Examples of wedding vows 1

If you’re having trouble writing your vows, you’re not alone. This would be the number one thing couples ask for my help with. I do have a template to help, but in the interim, you may find inspiration in the words of others.

What I love about these vows? I love the touch of humour and the incredibly sincere and personal promises they make to each other.

See what you think.

His vows to her

Well where do I start? Who would have thought a couple drinks one night in _____, 6 years ago, would have led to us being here today?

I never thought a man like me could have convinced such a beautiful, intelligent and driven woman to go on a date with me 6 years ago. It’s unbelievable to me that I get the chance today to promise myself to the person I consider my best friend.

With you, every day is a good day. How could I ever have a bad day when each day starts and finishes next to you?

I love you and I promise to love and cherish you forever. Your imperfections- if I can ever find any- will only make me love you more. To me, you are perfect.

I promise we will never go to bed angry. You will never fall asleep wondering if you are loved.

I promise to always laugh with you, cry with you, keep you warm when it’s cold, protect you, console you, and love you.

I’ll be your husband and I choose you to be my wife. Even in a thousand lifetimes, given a thousand different choices, I’d choose you.

Most importantly, I’ll always remember that what is mine is yours, and what is yours is yours. I promise to never touch your chocolate and to stop blaming (our one-year-old son) for it going missing.

Time to live happily ever after.

Her vows to him

It’s so crazy to believe that we met by chance eleven years ago. I would never have thought back then that you’d be the man standing in front of me today. Fast forward five years and our paths crossed again, although this time I knew you were the person I wanted to spend my life with.

You have filled my life with so much joy and given me a sense of peace that I have never known. You are my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the best back-up singer a girl could ask for.

I love so many things about you. You are kind, thoughtful, and you have the ability to keep me grounded. I love that you’re an amazing father to (our one-year-old son) and that he will grow up with your unconditional love and support.

But most of all, I love how you support me through all of my highs and lows, without hesitation.

And for that, I promise to show you for the rest of our lives how much I love you.

I promise to encourage you to follow your dreams and support you wherever life takes you.

I promise to make you laugh when you’re taking yourself too seriously.

I promise to persevere when times get tough, knowing that any challenges we might face, we will conquer together.

I promise to be patient with you, even during cricket season.

I promise to be loyal and faithful to you.

And lastly, I promise that in 50 years’ time, we will look back on our lives together and have no regrets.

You, of all people, know how indecisive I can be, but if there is one decision in my life that I am sure of, it’s to spend the rest of my life with you.
